New opener for R+S : Loughborough Knightthorpe Methodist Church made it 13 churches opening for Ride+Stride in the town
- a record for any town in the County in our 28 years of running the fund-raising event.  They covered Methodist(2), Salvation Army, United Reformed, Roman Catholic(2), Baptist, Anglican(5), and Elim/Open heaven traditions.

Leicestershire Historic Churches Trust and Ride+Stride, its principal annual fund-raising event, again featured strongly in Loughborough Parish Church of All Saints with Holy Trinity's amazing Christmas Tree festival 2017. Our tree was once more the brainchild of Mrs Eileen Hodgkinson, Ride+Stride Area Organiser for North West
Leicestershire and an active member and former Churchwarden of St Peter's Swepstone.  Eileen's friends assisted the installation, with County Co-ordinator, David Knowles DL. The festival attracted well over 100 trees from the town's charities, organisations and businesses.  The Church itself supports Ride+Stride each year with cycling, walking mobility scootering and welcomer sponsored participants who raised over £400 in 2017.
